First week in Los Angeles and Las Vegas

Los Angeles is located in California on the Western coast of the United States. It is the second largest city in the U.S. The first Europeans arrived in 1542 and Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo, a Portuguese-born explorer, claimed the area for the Spanish empire. The town was officially founded on September 4, 1781 by a group of 44 people called “Los Pobladores.” The town was later ruled by Mexico, until it became a part of the United States.
Los Angeles is often called the “Creative Capital of the World,” because one of every six residents work in a creative industry, including artists, writers, filmmakers, actors, cancers and musicians. Los Angeles is most famous because it is the location of Hollywood, which most people say is the epicenter of the film industry. Many of Los Angeles important landmarks are related to the film industry, including Grauman´s Chinese Theater, the Hollywood sign, and Hollywood Boulevard.
